This course is such that you need to have proper hands- on training with a proper Certification at the end of the term. It cannot be learned through apprenticeship or through correspondence courses.
One thus needs to ‘graduate’ from such a course. Being a certified professional of Nail Technology also serves another purpose. In the event of an accident at the clinic, in the absence of proper certification, the person may be held liable for damages and end up having to pay for the losses.
While enrolling for a course, one needs to ensure that at least the below basic course framework is adhered to:
- Manicure
- Pedicure
- Acrylic nails
- Gel nails
- Fibreglass nails
- Nail tips
- Repairs and maintenance
Manicure- It deals with the treatment that is done on the nails of the hands for beautification purposes.
Pedicure- The steps here include more or less the same as in manicure. Soaking the feet in warm mildly fragranced water is an essential part of the pedicure process.
Acrylic Nails- Acrylic nails or overlays are the most popular amongst the different types of artificial nails that are available. They are usually long lasting and are used as an extension to the natural growth of the nails.
Gel Nails- Similar to the Acrylic nails, they are more flexible.
Fibreglass Nails- These are basically artificial nails made of fibre glass.
Nail Tips- Nail Tips are extensions that are applied on the nails. They are available in different sizes and are made to fit the natural wedge of the nail of the wearer.
Repair and maintenance- Refers to the healthy and aesthetic maintenance of the above.
